Number Man in Color.

The photo is of a sculpture in Laumeier Sculpture Park, located in Sunset Hills, MO, about a half hour outside of St. Louis. The park opened in 1972 and in 1975 St. Louis sculptor Ernest Trova donated several sculptures. Now the park features a regularly rotating selection of sculptures (some towering over fifty feet high) and it's all outside—rolling grass hills, and forests.

According to the placard, the numbered man is intended to bring up themes of anonymity and echoes of the holocaust, prisoners of war, and so forth. There is also a play on the digital age here, with its ones and zeros.
